Most people know about Apple computers, but what most don't know is that Apple computers used Synertek chips. Synertek was one of the first microprocessor chip manufacturers - back in the 1970s - and they produced RAM and ROM memory chips as well as microprocessors and other components. They supplied components to companies like Apple, Atari and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Synertek also made one of the very first "personal computers." It wasn't like personal computers of today, and really required the owner to be somewhat technical to use it. This was true for most computers made prior to the mid 1980s.
